Bristol Fighter
A supercar designed from first principles.
The Fighter rejected the established supercar template, combining a front-mounted V10, compact proportions, exceptional visibility and gullwing doors in a uniquely Bristol form.
The Fighter was not styled to resemble its contemporaries. Its form followed an unusually direct engineering argument: a small frontal area, carefully managed airflow, a cabin that could be seen out of and a body that remained usable on real roads.
Its gullwing doors delivered drama, but they were also part of a tightly packaged structure. The car’s character came from the relationship between proportion, visibility, power and restraint rather than from ornament.
For the final production series, six chassis were identified for completion as newly built Fighters. The completed black car photographed throughout this website is available for sale, a second Fighter has been commissioned and sold, and four chassis remain available, including the Fighter T.
