Richard Hackett appointed Chairman of Bristol Cars Group
Richard Hackett, connected with Bristol since the 1960s through Anthony Crook Motors, the Kensington showroom and SLJ Hackett, is Chairman of Bristol Cars Group Ltd.
Richard Hackett has been appointed Chairman of Bristol Cars Group Ltd, the company that now carries the marque. His appointment was announced at the re-launch of Bristol Cars at Salon Privé, Blenheim Palace, on 2 September 2026, and he was appointed a director of the company on 25 August 2026.
His association with Bristol began in the early 1960s, when a family connection to the marque led to a first role at Anthony Crook Motors. He later joined Bristol’s Kensington showroom and spent more than a decade working with the cars, their owners and the people behind the company. After a period with Maranello Concessionaires he rejoined Bristol after the launch of the Fighter, and subsequently established SLJ Hackett in Warminster to continue supporting Bristol owners and the marque’s specialist community.
As Chairman he leads the completion of the final Fighter series and the Group’s work to carry Bristol’s engineering heritage into its next chapter. Bristol Cars Group Ltd holds a 50 per cent interest in SLJ Hackett, whose heritage Bristols for sale are shown on this site under Bristol Cars Approved.
Bristol has always been about doing things differently. It was never a mass-market manufacturer. It built exceptional cars in small numbers for people who appreciated their individuality, engineering and character. To return as Chairman, particularly in Bristol’s 80th anniversary year, is a tremendous privilege.
