A previously owned Bristol, sold by SLJ Hackett on its own description and terms. Not part of the final-series Fighter programme.

The car, as described by SLJ Hackett

A distinctive Bristol 411 combining traditional Bristol craftsmanship with an unusually engaging specification: a Chrysler V8 paired with a Tremec five-speed manual gearbox.

Finished in vivid blue with light grey leather, contrasting piping and dark blue carpets, MBW 421N has considerable presence. The wood dashboard, Smiths instruments and spacious four-seat cabin retain the character of this hand-built British grand tourer, while alloy wheels and the manual conversion give it a purposeful sporting edge.

The previous owner reports extensive expenditure on restoration. The engine specification includes Edelbrock aluminium performance cylinder heads and a fast-road cam, complemented by Holley Sniper fuel injection and electronic ignition. A custom branch exhaust system and upgraded front brake discs and calipers complete the principal mechanical improvements.

Lee Keller’s August 2026 inspection praised the standard of the manual gearbox installation and its operation. He also noted strong engine performance and torque, good overall structural condition with no obvious corrosion, and a front suspension that had clearly received attention. His overall assessment described the car as a pleasure to drive, with the manual conversion giving this Bristol a distinctive character.

Two binders of history accompany the car, with paperwork dating back to around 2000, including invoices from Bristol Cars and SLJ Hackett.

The car presents attractively, although the previous owner reported some bubbling on a front wing and a repaint to the passenger door.

An appealing opportunity for an enthusiast seeking the individuality and comfort of a Bristol 411 with the added involvement of a five-speed manual gearbox.
