This 1954 Bristol 403 is a particularly attractive example of Bristol’s elegant Aerodyne-bodied post-war grand tourer, presented in the highly appropriate colour combination of British Racing Green with beige leather upholstery.

The 403 represented the final development of Bristol’s celebrated 401/403 aerodynamic saloon line, combining aircraft-influenced body design, high-quality engineering and understated British craftsmanship. This example captures that character extremely well: refined, usable, discreet, and beautifully proportioned.

The paintwork presents very well overall, with good depth and a consistent finish. There are only minor signs of age visible on close inspection, entirely in keeping with a carefully maintained historic motor car. The British Racing Green finish suits the Aerodyne form particularly well, emphasising the car’s flowing wings, rounded tail and distinctive early Bristol identity.

Inside, the cabin is trimmed in beige leather with contrasting dark piping to the seats and door cards. The upholstery presents well, showing light and even patination consistent with careful ownership, while retaining the correct period feel. The lighter interior works especially well against the dark exterior, giving the cabin a calm and refined character.

The dashboard retains its original walnut veneer, which remains in good condition and houses the factory instrumentation and switchgear. The overall interior presentation is cohesive and authentic, reflecting the restrained craftsmanship for which Bristol Cars became known in the early 1950s.

Mechanically, the car retains its original Bristol 100A engine, confirming its matching-numbers status. The odometer currently displays an indicated 56,515 miles.
